Overview

Upper Hall Park Berkhamsted

Overview

We were appointed in 2017 by our clients who had recently purchased the property.

Our brief was to extend the house at ground floor to create an open plan living / dining / kitchen space, together with a new utility room and office.

At first floor, a new master bedroom with dressing room and ensuite were constructed and a new bedroom and ensuite were added in the loft space.

The house is located on the side of the valley with the rear garden falling away from the house. Our proposal for the ground floor extension took advantage of this topography with the house opening up at the rear into a contemporary, bright and spacious double height kitchen / dining / living area, nicknamed by the clients the ‘sugar cube’.

The master bedroom has a vaulted ceiling and Juliet balcony, providing excellent views over the valley to the fields beyond.

From inception to completion of our services, the development of the proposals progressed smoothly with a number of update meetings held with the clients at their house, often with one of their two dogs sat on our laps.
